Coconut oil, coconut water, coconut milk, King Creole and the coconuts, I truely love them all. But if forced to choose my ultimate desert island date it would always be the organic, virgin coconut oil that would join me in my hammock. Packed full of antioxidants, huile de coco is a wonderful little multi-tasker that’s cheap and incredibly cheerful. Sheesh, what’s not to love? Here are some of my favourite ways to get totally tropical at home:In the kitchen - coconut oil has not only been proven to stimulate your metabolism by helping your body to absorb vitamins, minerals and amino acids but it’s also great for frying and roasting your veggies as it has a much higher smoke point than olive oil for example. What’s more, if you happen to cut yourself while chopping some onions applying a small amount of coconut oil will act as a natural plaster and its anti-bacterial properties will also speed up the healing process too.
In the bathroom - deep conditioners, split ends repair, eye make up remover, body moistoriser, shaving cream alternative…you name it you body loves it. Coconut oil is naturally antibacterial, calming and moisturizing and is one of the most nutritious products you can lavish on your locks and skin. and doesn’t have any of the usual icky chemicals added to most beauty products.
